I'd have to agree with the idea of one blog and using categories or another mechanism to separate the content. The category pages could look entirely different and the users could subscribe to the entire feed or to the specific category they want. Treat it like two blogs and one blog at the same time and make everyone happy.

Nicholas and Lauren: Thanks for the feedback on social cause. It is a core part of the business, and one of our main practices, so blogging about is important on the main blog, even if some folks not in that segment may not care. I also kind of see it as public service broadcasting, too, since IMO, we should all be doing social cause work to some extent, even if it's just a couple of little things a month.

The idea of different feeds is becoming increasingly interesting, with a tactical feed, a strategy feed, a social cause feed, or a big ole schmorgasborg feed.

Separation of social cause conversation is a good call. I do agree with the above comments that strategy and tactics should not be separated...perhaps have this as a separate blog with the tab concept.

Keep it all in one blog please, with specific tags. I have a ton of RSS feeds that I deliberately read so as not to miss anything.

Cheers,
John.

Having two separate blogs would be better for SEO (vs. tabs w/in one blog) and lends itself to two sub-brands. I agree with Nicholas, SM stategey and tactics would be great in one blog. Here's the strategy, here are the tactics...now go do it. The Buzz Bin is part of my daily reading, so I appreciate the chance to chime in... Thanks Geoff!

How about using categories withing the same blog, tab it at the top but still funnel all content through the Buzz Bin? You could also offer two feeds, one for the strategy category and one for the tactics category.

Functionally this makes it two blogs, but leaves it as one for those of us that follow you everywhere you are. Think segmentations vs. silos.

Just a thought.

If anything, I might separate out the social media for social good topics to a separate blog, and keep the general social media tactical/strategic stuff in another single blog. Separating tactical and strategic doesn't seem right, since I'd guess that people interested in one would also be interested in the other. I would, at least.
