Thanks for your comment! I agree ... and it will be interesting to see how Churchill Downs continues to evolve its Mint Julep marketing. Wonder what's coming next....

This case study captures very well the importance of right marketing and using unique and innovative strategies. Very often we see that the famous brands fail to keep up the reputation and die a slow death. But the way Churchill Downs kept giving something new to its customers is remarkable.

Thanks, Suzanne. It seems like Churchill Downs and Brown Foreman have invested a little more in the cause marketing program each year, so I'll be interested to see how it progresses in the future.

I'm hopeful I'll actually get the chance to drink a mint julep at the derby one day!

What a terrific case study on how to capitalize on the organic development of a tradition! It's particularly interesting to see how Churchill Downs and Brown Foreman were able to grow this program to cause-marketing and how brilliant to mitigate any negative reactions from animal rights movement.

Is the next step to provide temperance guidelines?(Kidding) From my Derby experience, that's not a particularly big focus. I'm sure all the materials have the "drink responsibly" line already.
